Sunday afternoon Karla Bonoff and Nina Gerber played to a cozy crown on a gorgeous day in Savannah, Georgia. These pictures are from her first performance at 3:55 pm. She played for 30 or 40 minutes and sounded fabulous, playing acoustic guitar and electric piano. Nina added sweet and sumptuous electric guitar accompaniment, accenting and embellishing perfectly Karla's sweet and moving vocals. She sang some of her most soul stirring tunes, including Home, All My Life, I Can't Hold On, Please Be The One, Isn't It Always Love, The Water Is Wide. She included one she said was from the first Bryndle album that she wrote with Wendy Waldman, I forget the name!
Her voice seemed to break a few times during the set which I attributed to the still fresh pain in her heart over the recent passing of close friend and collaborator Kenny Edwards. Karla confirmed my suspicion in a comment she made to me after the set when I complimented on her sounding fabulous and offered my condolences on Kenny's passing a few weeks ago. She thanked me and mentioned the effect it had a few times on her performance.
